Resolutions and Results

Vacant Home Tax

City staff recommended a 3% Vacant Home Tax. But after hearing directly from residents across our city who are struggling to find affordable housing, I pushed council to go further.

I successfully led the effort to raise our Vacant Home Tax to 4%, making it the highest in the entire province.

Physician Recruitment

The City's contribution has more than doubled—a 111% increase in the last  two years. So proud to lead the charge at Council.

This investment is producing real results: the physician recruitment program has helped bring 16 doctors to Sault Ste. Marie over the past four years.

Recruiting and retaining doctors is one of the most critical actions we can take to improve access to care. If re-elected, I will remain committed to:

-Increasing funding for physician recruitment and retention strategies.

- Tracking transparent results to ensure every taxpayer dollar delivers real impact.

- Strengthening local healthcare so every family in Sault Ste. Marie has access to the care they need.

Steady Leadership for Sault Ste. Marie

Consistent, experienced representation matters. Staying focused on key priorities ensures Sault Ste. Marie remains stable, capable, and ready for the future.

It is fundamentally wrong for our closest allies to treat Canada  G7 partner the same way they treat globally isolated nations like Iran, North Korea, and Russia. This is not just a trade issue; it’s an economic insult.

Global uncertainty impacts us right here in the Soo, but focusing on local priorities keeps our community strong. In challenging economic times, municipal leadership must stay grounded in delivering core services, protecting local industrial jobs, and managing taxpayer dollars responsibly.
